tracy irving (twinan)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge your specialty; it was a great thrill.

The show was extremely well organized and a happy atmosphere was very much in evidence. The venue was ideal with a large carpeted ring which was good for the dogs to move on without fear of slipping, and good lighting, which is always a bonus.

I would like to extend my thanks to the exhibitors for accepting my decisions graciously. Quality was very good overall, exhibits were well presented and handled.

Thanks to my stewards Melody Kist and Terry Coughlin who made the ring run smoothly.

Thanks must also go to Karen Gunzel who saw to our every need, and to Mary Bittrich for looking after us outside of the ring sightseeing. Steve and I extend great thanks to all those who helped make our stay a memorable one.

My gift, the gorgeous handmade model by Linda Ozelis, will be treasured forever.

PUPPY 6 MONTHS AND UNDER 9 MONTHS, DOGS (3 exhibited)

1. LIONHART FINNIGAN O’STONEYGATE (Anwyl Winds O Change x Ch. Lionhart’s Lady of The Lake) Breeders: D. Hartman & D. Royster. Owners: Deborah J. Dennis Valente & Daniel Hartman & Debbie Royster. Quality sable puppy with a well proportioned headpiece, dark eye, good reach of neck leading to a level topline held on the move, good angulations both fore and aft providing efficient movement. Best mover in the class, lovely tone and condition for such a youngster.
2. TERENELF IT’S ALL ABOUT DA BREW (Ch. Brynlea It’s All About Me x Terenelf’s Midnight Star Ale) Breeder/Owner: Lois E. Kay. Sable puppy with a good head, neck and topline, topline level when standing but not quite so firm on the move, this puppy also had good angulations but moved a little too close in front, lovely coat and condition.
3. TERENELF’S MAC N CHEESHE (Ch. Cedar Creek’s Oliver Twish x Terenelf’s Grand Buffet) Breeder/Owner: Lois E. Kay. Another sable puppy who was definitely the baby of the bunch, not the head proportions of 1 and 2 but has good bone, a good reach of neck, topline a little soft at present, nicely angulated front and rear, good coat and condition.

PUPPY 9 MONTHS AND UNDER 12 MONTHS, DOGS (2 exhibited)

1. CORGARD HALF AND HALF (Dalarno A Shining Legacy x Ch. Corgard Tribute To Foxway) Breeders: Michele Pohl & Kandy Boll. Owners: Ann & Warren Phillips. Red and white male with good head proportions, good reach of neck, level topline, strong bone, neat feet, won the class with good movement.
2. PEMBURY HOUSE TRITON (Ch. Triple H Enchanted Hip Hop x Ch. Pembury House Presence) Breeder/Owner: Sandi Eaton. Red and white male, nice head, good reach of neck, would prefer less length of leg and neater feet.

12 TO 18 MONTH, DOGS (6 exhibited)

1. BROGAN KENDALL JACKSON (Ch. Caamora Gandy Dancer x Ch. Brogan Bells Chime) Breeder: Mari Flemming Carroll. Owners: Mary Elizabeth Simpson & Mari Fleming Carroll. . A quality red and white male with an excellent reach of neck, level topline, good spring of rib, lovely short hocks, well placed shoulder and a good turn of stifle, enabling accurate movement. Excellently presented and handled, pushed hard for top honours although very alert I would just like a touch more masculinity in head.
2. CORGARD FORBIDDEN MEMORIES (Dalarno Shining Legacy x Ch. Corgard Memories of Foxway) Breeders: Michele Pohl & Kandy Boll. Owners: Ellen Schusterson & Kandy Boll & Michele Pohl. Red and white male with a more masculine headpiece, nice dark eye, strong neck and level topline, would prefer more layback of shoulder, and more spring of rib as he had a tendency to move narrow in front.
3. FAIRIE GLEN REPLAY (Ch. Dwynella Take A Chance x Ch. Fairie Glen Dina O’Shanteroo) Breeders: Linda Mumoz & Joyce Gotschall. Owner: Susan Strickland. Red and white male with a good head, but very reluctant to use his ears to advantage which affected his expression, adequate reach of neck, level topline, neat feet, excellent body condition.
4. LUSTIGLEBEN TIFFLYN FIRESONG (Ch. Chaval’s Fire Classic At Craigycor x Ch. Lustiglebeb Melody N Tifflyn, TD, NA, NAJ) Breeders/Owners: Lynda D. McKee & Gail Sheetz. Red and white male with nice head but would prefer a much darker eye, level topline. Needs more positive movement.

BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR, DOGS (2 exhibited)

1. LOST RIVER TRI’D N TRU IRISH MIST (Ch. Putnam Forever Splendor x Ch. Lost River’s Hot Ticket) Breeders/Owners: Shawn Michael & Kathy Hash. Eye-catching red and white male with excellent head proportions, nice dark eye, excellent reach of neck leading to a level topline, well laid shoulder, good turn of stifle, short hocks, right amount of bone, a clear winner on movement and condition.
2. CORGARD THANKS FOR TH’ MEMORIES (Dalarnos A Shining Legacy x Ch. Corgards Memories of Foxway) Breeders/Owners: Kandy L. Boll & Michele Pohl. Sable strong headed male, level topline, needs a touch more reach of neck and a little less length of leg to provide a balanced picture, excellent condition.

AMERICAN-BRED, DOGS (2 exhibited)

1. CALISTA’S MIDNIGHT RAMBLER (Ch. Foxlor Shafrhaus Sammy Sosa x Ch. Caralon Calista Yes I Can) Breeders: J. & G. Georges. Owners: John & Gaye Georges & John McCormack. Masculine tricolour with a well balanced head, good arch to neck, level topline, sufficient bone, well muscled, excels in side gait and rear movement, would prefer a more positive front action.
2. TERENELF WINCHESTER (Terenelf Garand x Terenelf Keeping Company) Breeder: Lois Kay. Owner: James D. Bartzsch. Red and white male with a nice head, good reach of neck leading into a level topline. Short dense coat, let down by movement, would also prefer a much tighter foot.

Red and white masculine dog with an appealing expression, dark eye, excellent reach of neck, level topline held at all times, excellent angulations both fore and aft, enabling good positive ground coverage. Good spring of rib, giving good heart room, strong plentiful bone neat short hocks leading to correctly shaped neat feet, a dog with a balanced clean outline, presented in excellent order and well handled. Sable puppy in excellent coat and condition, very pretty balanced headpiece, lovely strong neck leading into a level topline, the best of shoulder placements, excellent turn of stifle, very positive movement, such a polished performance for one so young, wish she were mine. Tricolour in good condition, pretty head which would benefit from a little more pronounced stop. Good neck and topline. Moved out with drive.
3. TERENELF’S SHTEWED TOMATO (Ch. Cedar Creek’s Oliver Twish x Terenelf’s Grand Buffet) Breeder/Owner: Lois E. Kay. Sable bitch with a pretty head, good reach of neck, topline rising in the rear at the moment, good angulations front and rear, excellent bone, the baby of the bunch.
4. BRUNSWIG’S LOVE AFFAIR (Ch. Fairysteed’s Paparazzi x Brunswig Llandian’s Ha’Penny) Breeder: Phyllis Farrer. Owners: Catherine Scarfi & Craig Gialanella. Paler red and white puppy, head needs to broaden, good neck, level topline, not yet developed in chest therefore movement rather narrow.

PUPPY 9 MONTHS AND UNDER 12 MONTHS, BITCHES (5 exhibited)

1. NORTHRUN SMALLCRAFT WARNING (Coltsrun Lemony Snicket x Ch. Northrun Windblown) Breeder/Owner: Cathy Donovan. Red and white with good head proportions, strong neck, level topline, well laid shoulder, good turn of stifle, excellent bone structure, positive on the move. Well balanced with a clean outline, in consideration for higher honours.
2. CORGARD TRIBUTE TO A LEGACY (Dalarno A Shining Legacy x Ch. Corgard Tribute To Foxway) Breeders/Owners: Michele L. Pohl & Kandy Boll. A larger more mature red and white bitch with a very pretty head, good neck leading to a level topline, I felt she moved narrow in front and had a tendency to stand close.
3. CALLOWAY REINWOOD ANGEL SONG (Ch. Hum’nbird Nathaniel Hawthorne x Calloway Parlor Repartee) Breeder: Pam Hudson. Owners: Mary Elizabeth Simpson & Cathy Santarsiero. Red and white with a feminine head but I would prefer a darker eye, good reach of neck, topline could be firmer, nicely conditioned.
4. BRIGWYN’S FREE FALLIN (Ch. Twinan Another Chance For Salvenik x Ch. Llandian’s Love Me Love Me Not, CDX) Breeder/Owner: Barbara O. Gurwell. Tricolour baby of the class, excellent headpiece, strong level topline, excellent bone, coat and condition, her movement needs to tighten allround, hopefully this should come with age.

12 TO 18 MONTH, BITCHES (3 exhibited)

1. LLANDIANS LOVE ON ICE (Shelvon Royale Jubilee x Ch. Llandians Love In The Mist) Breeder/Owner: Dianne Connolly. Light sable bitch, feminine in all departments, just enough reach of neck, level topline held on the move, well placed shoulder, short hocks provides good driving action from the rear.
2. MYSTICAL CROSS MY HEART (Ch. Maplecreek Montgomery x Mystical Classified Ad) Breeder/Owner: Deborah L. Beal. Rich red and white bitch with the prettiest of heads, sweet expression, very impressive side gait, would prefer more positive movement coming to, good condition, lost out to the winner on topline.
3. SANDFOX FUNNY MONEY (Ch. Byendebrok Maplecreek Barcarat x Ch. Sandfox Hot Money, MX, MXJ) Breeders: Vicki Sandage & Larry & Claire McClure. Owner: Carol Braunstein. Red and white bitch with a short dense coat, would prefer a more feminine headpiece. Moved a little wide in front.

BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR, BITCHES (6 exhibited)

1. XIII MAPLES SELENE ON TOWNHILL (Ch. Aberlee Storm Force x Ch. Readfield Moon O’er XIII Maples) Breeders: Ellen Childs & Marianne Read. Owner: Ellen C. Childs. Red and white bitch with the sweetest of heads, feminine all through. Good reach of neck, level topline, held on the move, excellent layback of shoulder and rear angulations, plenty of bone and substance, correct spring of rib providing good depth of chest, front legs moulded round chest, good forward reach without too much lift. The best mover in the class. WINNERS BITCH
2. CORGARD BATTERY N’T INCLUDED (Ch. Tallyrand Doubting Thomas x Ch. Corgard Make Your Move) Breeders/Owners: Michele L. Pohl & Kandy Boll. Red and white bitch very close decision between the first and second place, all the same remarks apply, rear movement wasn’t as strong as it could be.
3. FOXTALE LLANDIANS JUST PEACHY (Ch. Aberlee Storm Force x Ch. Foxtale’s Sinfully Sweet) Breeder/Owner: Virginia C. Fitzgerald. Red and white bitch with good angles both front and rear, excellent condition, I felt her head wasn’t as balanced as it could be.
4. MOOSEHILL CAN’T STOP LOV’N EWES (Ch. Aberlee Storm Force x Putnams Oh So Chic) Breeder/Owner: Carla Hellander. Red and white pretty headed bitch. Level topline plentiful bone, would prefer more moulding round chest to assist a freer movement.

OPEN, BITCHES (12 exhibited)

1. AUBREY’S JUST FOR FUN (Ch. Aberlee Storm Force x Aubrey’s Enchanting Moments) Breeders: Cynthia & Vincent Savioli. Owner: Roberta M. Lord & Cynthia & Vincent Savioli. Presented in good clean condition.
2. LASTSTOP SOSA SENSATIONAL (Ch. Foxlor Shafrhaus Sammy Sosa x Ch. Laststop Bump In The Night) Breeder: Carol Dowd. Owner: Ellen Schusterson. Red and white an excellent reach of neck, nicely angulated front and rear, was longer in body than 2nd and therefore not quite as balanced. Moved a little wide coming to.

Tricolour male of good size and substance, handsome headpiece, dark eye, strong reach of neck, level topline, the best of shoulders and turn of stifle, good strong bone leading to nice tight feet. Thanks so much to the Garden State Club for the opportunity to judge this sweepstakes. Thank you also to the exhibitors for their entries and wonderful sportsmanship. This entry was small but filled with quality. The show site is superb, the hospitality outstanding and the after show party lots of fun.

1. LIONHART FINNIGAN O’STONEYGATE (Anwyl Winds O Change x Ch. Lionhart’s Lady of The Lake) Breeders: D. Hartman & D. Royster. Owners: Deborah J. Dennis Valente & Daniel Hartman & Debbie Royster. A promising sable youngster who has a beautiful dark eye, correct headpiece, lovely coat and bone. He is true coming and going but roaches slightly over the loin on the move. Better angles at both ends would make this boy a stronger contender.
2. TERENELF IT’S ALL ABOUT DA BREW (Ch. Brynlea It’s All About Me x Terenelf’s Midnight Star Ale) Breeder/Owner: Lois E. Kay. Another quality sable of similar style to the dog above, balanced mover in all directions just preferred the head and expression of the 1st dog on the day.

SWEEPSTAKES PUPPY 9 MONTHS AND UNDER 12 MONTHS, DOGS (2 exhibited)

1. PEMBURY HOUSE TRITON (Ch. Triple H Enchanted Hip Hop x Ch. Pembury House Presence) Breeder/Owner: Sandi Eaton. Pale red and white fellow who arrived in the ring rather casually dressed. That said this is a dog who has very little to hide. Strong back, nice bone and is certainly an eye-catching mover from all directions. Attractive masculine expression, would wish for better feet.
2. CORGARD HALF AND HALF (Dalarno A Shining Legacy x Ch. Corgard Tribute To Foxway) Breeders: Michele Pohl & Kandy Boll. Owners: Ann & Warren Phillips. This is a handsome, masculine red and white fellow with nice bone, who is quite appealing in profile. On the day he was a bit narrow coming and not as positive moving out on the side as the first dog.

SWEEPSTAKES 12 TO 15 MONTH, DOGS (1 exhibited)

1. LOST RIVER TRI’D N TRU IRISH MIST (Ch. Putnam Forever Splendor x Ch. Lost River’s Hot Ticket) Breeders/Owners: Shawn Michael & Kathy Hash. Very correct masculine dog with lovely bone, good feet and pleasing expression. His attractive neck flows beautifully into a well-laid shoulder and strong back. He is eye catching in profile both standing and moving though a tad more upper arm and darker eye would be welcome. He is a different type of dog than my 15-18 month winner who pushed hard for top honors. In the final analysis this boy was just more dog both standing and moving and I was pleased to award him BEST of OPPOSITE to BEST in SWEEPSTAKES.

SWEEPSTAKES 15 TO 18 MONTH, DOGS (4 exhibited)

1. BROGAN KENDALL JACKSON (Ch. Caamora Gandy Dancer x Ch. Brogan Bells Chime) Breeder: Mari Flemming Carroll. Owners: Mary Elizabeth Simpson & Mari Fleming Carroll. This is a very pretty, darker red and white boy. He was certainly a picture both standing and moving though lifting his front feet a bit more than desired when viewed from the side on the go. Wish there was just a little more to him all over, still a top quality corgi, he was highly considered in the final challenge.
2. CORGARD FORBIDDEN MEMORIES (Dalarno Shining Legacy x Ch. Corgard Memories of Foxway) Breeders: Michele Pohl & Kandy Boll. Owners: Ellen Schusterson & Kandy Boll & Michele Pohl. Another very nice male with show stopping side gait and good bone. Pleasing expression enhanced by a dark eye. He was a bit narrow coming and could be sloppy standing in front on the day. Still he pressed the above boy for 1st in this class.
3. NEBRIOWA CHRISTOPHE (Ch. Pemcader Belroyd Zodiac x Ch Nebriowa Hello Good Lookin) Breeder: Thomas Mathiesen. Owners: Douglas Mankovich & NanciEllyn Lazarowitz & Thomas Mathiesen. Pleasing male with a lovely foxy expression and correct headpiece. Adequate mover who appeared a bit stuffy and light boned on the day. I suspect he would be more competitive with conditioning and training.
4. FAIRIE GLEN REPLAY (Ch. Dwynella Take A Chance x Ch. Fairie Glen Dina O’Shanteroo) Breeders: Linda Mumoz & Joyce Gotschall. Owner: Susan Strickland. A heavy boned pale red and white male, he has a nice expression and lovely coat. He was clean coming and going, however his movement was quite restricted both front and rear when gaited in profile.

This darling sable baby has rings on her fingers and bells on her toes! Super feminine head and beautiful eye combine with her classic long, low outline, proper bone and pretty feet. Nice neck, correct angles on both ends of a strong back. She uses herself very well on the move though a bit more training could really make her sparkle. Presented in lovely condition, she is just the whole banana. Congratulations to her breeder/owner/handler: BEST in SWEEPSTAKES.
2. BRUNSWIG’S LOVE AFFAIR (Ch. Fairysteed’s Paparazzi x Brunswig Llandian’s Ha’Penny) Breeder: Phyllis Farrer. Owners: Catherine Scarfi & Craig Gialanella. This is a lovely type red and white girl, who is a bit fine in substance throughout. Lovely head, nice eye, good topline and correct movement placed her 2nd in this competitive class.
3. SILVERMINE LOTUS BLOSSOM (Ch. Caamora Gandy Dancer, PT x Ch. Saddle Lane Riverside Sushi) Breeders: L. & J. Ward & D. Shindle & A. Carter. Owners: Laura & John Ward. A red headed tri, with better bone and body substance than the #2 girl. Good mover in all directions. A bit more stop would enhance her otherwise attractive head and eye.
4. TERENELF’S SHTEWED TOMATO (Ch. Cedar Creek’s Oliver Twish x Terenelf’s Grand Buffet) Breeder/Owner: Lois E. Kay. Another pretty red and white baby who was not sure she wanted to play today. Her topline elevated behind which of course happens at her age. She has many appealing qualities and she should mature nicely.

SWEEPSTAKES PUPPY 9 MONTHS AND UNDER 12 MONTHS, BITCHES (5 exhibited)

1. CORGARD TRIBUTE TO A LEGACY (Dalarno A Shining Legacy x Ch. Corgard Tribute To Foxway) Breeders/Owners. Michele L. Pohl & Kandy Boll. This pale red and white lady caught my eye on the first go around. She has a beautiful outline, bone and proportions. Exhibiting good side gait but she is a bit narrow coming, which affected her in the final challenge.
2. NORTHRUN SMALLCRAFT WARNING (Coltsrun Lemony Snicket x Ch. Northrun Windblown) Breeder/Owner: Cathy Donovan. This is another quality red and white girl of a much different type than the class winner. Better eye pigment would enhance her otherwise appealing expression. Her outline is lovely as is her ground covering movement, though she is falling away a bit at the croup today. She pushed the girl above for 1st in this competitive class.
3. CALLOWAY REINWOOD ANGEL SONG (Ch. Hum’nbird Nathaniel Hawthorne x Calloway Parlor Repartee) Breeder: Pam Hudson. Owners: Mary Elizabeth Simpson & Cathy Santarsiero. What an eye-catching pale red and white youngster. She has such a pretty expression complimented by nice coat, correct body proportions and bone. Unfortunately her front assembly just let her down on the move.
4. BRIGWYN’S FREE FALLIN (Ch. Twinan Another Chance For Salvenik x Ch. Llandian’s Love Me Love Me Not, CDX) Breeder/Owner: Barbara O. Gurwell. This is an appealing red headed tri girl made in a different body style than those above. She has a beautiful head and eye and is a good mover from the side she does toe in a bit coming. Just hope she puts some more length on as she matures, over all a nice package she will have a bright future I am sure.

SWEEPSTAKES 12 TO 15 MONTH, BITCHES (2 exhibited)

1. SANDFOX FUNNY MONEY (Ch. Byendebrok Maplecreek Barcarat x Ch. Sandfox Hot Money, MX, MXJ) Breeders: Vicki Sandage & Larry & Claire McClure. Owner: Carol Braunstein. This is a larger pale red and white bitch with a great body and super substance. She has a beautiful dark eye and does everything right on the move. Not a glamour girl but of the type which can prove to be quite useful as a producer.
2. MYSTICAL CROSS MY HEART (Ch. Maplecreek Montgomery x Mystical Classified Ad) Breeder/Owner: Deborah L. Beal. This is a lighter boned bitch of a more feminine style than the girl above. She has a pretty head and good length. Unfortunately she is high stepping in front on the move.

SWEEPSTAKES 15 TO 18 MONTH, BITCHES (2 exhibited)

1. LLANDIANS LOVE ON ICE (Shelvon Royale Jubilee x Ch. Llandians Love In The Mist) Breeder/Owner: Dianne Connolly. This is a light sable girl with nice length and good movement in all directions. She has adequate bone and a pretty head and eye. A bit more neck would add to her appeal in profile.
2. SUNLINE IRIS CADDIS (Ch. Festiniog Voyager x Ch. Sunline Love Macheen) Breeders/Owners: Ann & Warren Phillips. This is a red headed tri girl with a nice head, eye and bone. Correct long, low profile and good topline, unfortunately her rear movement let her down.
