First, I would like to thank the members of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Garden State, particularly Melody Kist and Vince and Cindy Savioli, for their wonderful hospitality and the beautiful silver Corgi pin received as a momento of the day. I will wear it and cherish the memories it brings forth. And to whomever I owe the thanks for “no rain,” consider it stated! A “little wind” didn’t hurt anyone!
Without exception, good sportsmanship was apparent all day, the Corgis were clean, well-presented, and temperaments were excellent. On a less than positive note, I would caution breeders to pay close attention to the size of some of their exhibits. In a few cases, I feel the limit was stretched and even exceeded! In addition, conditioning is not an option, but a necessity, when competing at this level.

Quite substantial and well finished for his age. Very clean through withers and shoulders with a strong, firm topline. Well angulated rear. Dark eye and beautiful ear set. Short, well turned hocks. BEST PUPPY
2. SPRINGMILLS DIPPED IN BRONZE (Ch. Belroyd Bronze Eagle x Garvins Diamond Tiara). Breeder: Nancy Oehlhof & Gayle Garvin. Owner: Nancy Oehlhof. Similar in type and outline as first puppy, but higher stationed and lighter on bone. Clean neck and firm topline. Would prefer more angulation.
3. TRESAITH’S THE BRYSE IS RIGHT (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Ch. Lamin Impulsive O’Tresaith). Breeder/Owner: Janet & Bill Richardson. Sable and white. Very pretty, but head slightly domed. Ear set could be higher and stronger. Well turned hocks and uses himself well, but attitude says he would prefer to be elsewhere.
4. FOXWAY LEGACY PENDING (Ch. Foxway Corg’rd Crystal Legacy x Ch. Foxway A Rumor of Grace). Breeder: S. Mottes & M. Pohl & E. Schusterson. Owner: Sandra Mottes. Red headed tri. Coat less than ideal today. An attractive head. Very forward set shoulder with shallow rib cage.
12-18 MONTHS, DOGS (11 entries)
1. FOXTALE STARBOUND (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Ch. Champagne N Caviar). Breeder/Owner: Virginia C. Fitzgerald. Bright red and white. Good length of body with tight elbows. Attractive head and neck, tying cleanly into withers. Good turn of stifle. Coat could be better.
2. XII MAPLES DELWYN STARCHASER (Ch. Pinemeade War Party x XIII Maples Shadow Dancer). Breeder: Linda & Bruce Eickholdt & Ellen C. Childs. Owner: Ellen C. Childs. Sable and white. Higher stationed than first and not quite the length of ribbing as first place dog. Moves effortlessly when he uses himself. Very attractive head and eye. Good topline.
3. TALLYRAND XALTED LOVE (Ch. Salvenik Sweet Thoughts x Ch. Tallyrand Amazing Love). Breeder: Lois Zelenski. Owner: Robin Faszoid. Red and white. Long bodied dog and left his coat at home. Movement is pleasing, but head and ear set failed.
4. ARBOR SAND PIPER (Ch. Belroyd Seabird x Ch. Arbor Festiniog Idle Gossip). Breeder: Kathleen Broska. Owner: Georgianna Marshall & Carol Meaney & Kathleen Broska. Red headed tri. Narrow in backskull, but possibly will widen with time. Excellent length of body carried through rib cage. Good turn of stifle and well let down hock, but moved very wide going away.
BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR DOGS (7 entries)
1. FOXWAY LEGACY TRAVELER (Ch. Foxway Corg’rd Crystal Legacy x Ch. Foxway A Rumor of Grace). Breeder: S. Mottes, M. Pohl & E. Schusterson. Owner: Michele L. Pohl & Sandra Mottes. Red and white with a touch of sable over withers. Very foxy attractive head with perfect proportions and excellent ear set. Shoulders set well under body. Firm topline. Well angulated stifle. Moderate dog in all respects and very correct. RESERVE WINNERS DOG
2. ARBOR FESTINIOG SEA EPIC (Ch. Belroyd Seabird x Ch. Arbor Festiniog Idle Gossip). Breeder: Kathleen Broska. Owner: Kathleen A. Broska & Margaret A. Thomas. More extreme and carries length of body through a long loin. Good angulation front and rear. Narrow head piece and muzzle too long for backskull.
3. CULDI’S DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR (Ch. Aubrey’s Heart of The Matter x Ch. Tam’s Tres Doux HS). Breeder/Owner: Stephanie Snide. Sable and white. Shorter bodied than two above. Good topline and well-laid back shoulder. Would prefer a more angulated and let down hock.
4. POT O’GOLD’S THE JAZZ SINGER (Ch. Tams Jazzman of Larchmont x Ch. Just Enuff Curtain Calls CD). Breeder/Owner: Patricia Bittles & Susan Klar. Red headed tri. A touch heavy in the head and would prefer more chiseling under the eye and muzzle. Not quite the length of body of those above, but carrying good bone and short, well let down hocks.
AMERICAN-BRED DOGS (4 entries)
1. WINDSHYR ONE IN A MILLION (Ch. Crysmont Max-A-Million x Ch. Windshyr Caredig Rain Dancer). Breeder: Sharon Grous. Owner: Donna L. Reardon & Sharon Grous. Red and white. Standout in the class. Would prefer more length of body, but a sound, clean moving dog. Attractive head and a firm topline with balanced angulation front and rear.
2. WAYMANS APACHE WAR WARRIOR (Ch. Castell Killin’ Time x Cadets Waymans Lady Empress). Breeder/Owner: Rachel Wayman. Sable and white. Longer bodied than first with a nice turn of stifle. Shoulder is straight, consequently, dog tends to overreach behind.
3. DALARNO BANJO MAN (Ch. Valleyvixen Don Juan x Dalarno’s In The Mood). Breeder: Carrie P. Harris. Owner: Elsie DeGrandi. Red headed tri. Shorter in all respects than those above. Attractive head. Would prefer more bone.
4. CAROUSEL LARKLAIN PADDYS JR. (Ch. Larklain Stardust Paddy x Ch. Carousel Black Lace). Breeder: Judy McCormick. Owner: Carol & Richard Kasabian. Sweet guy with nice bone. Of an older type, but sure wants to be a show dog.
OPEN DOGS (9 entries)
1. ROYAL MARK SEA CHANGE (Ch. Curig Beau Jangles x Royal Mark April’s Joy). Breeder/Owner: Neil & Kathryn JMB McLain. Pale red and white. Lovely outline with good clean shoulders and turn of stifle with well let down hock. Very attractive head with correct pigmentation and well arched, clean neck. Completely sound and covers ground with minimum amount of effort. WINNERS DOG AND BEST OF WINNERS
2. WINDSHYR ARTISTRY ON ICE (Ch. Aubrey Brookehaven Outlandish x Larklain Magnums Fable). Breeder/Owner: Sharon Grous. Dark red and white. Stronger head type. Nice length of body and better than adequate movement, but overall a smaller version would be more desirable.
3. TALLYRAND WANNABE (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Ch. Tallyrand Ode To Joy). Breeder: Joseph & Lois Zelenski. Owner: Jane & Robert Altar. Red and white. Shorter all over than those above. Good bone and would prefer refined head.
4. SUNLINE DORSET (Ch. Stormerbanks Abercrombie x Sunline Red Quill). Breeder: Warren & Ann Phillips. Owner: Tom & Eileen Hartel & Warren & Ann Phillips. Red and white. Nice length of body, but carrying a very upright shoulder and tending to ride up behind.
PUPPY 6-9 MONTHS, BITCHES (22 entries)
1. PEMINTENN’S KISS ‘N TELL (Ch. Pinemeade War Party x Saddlelane Glamour O’Pemnten). Breeder/Owner: Nancy Schaefer. Sable and white. Appeared to be the “baby” of the class. Dead-level topline with a beautifully angulated front and well balanced rear assembly. Very attractive head and eye. Puppy moves effortlessly and covers the ground with a minimum amount of effort. Looking forward to seeing her as an adult. WINNER’S BITCH
2. WINDSHYR NUTCRACKER ON ICE (Windshyr Artistry On Ice x Windshyr A-Million To One). Breeder: Sharon Grous. Owner: Sharon Grous & Ann Sullivan & Elizabeth Sullivan. Red and white. This puppy worked for her placing in this very large class and her movement and showmanship pushed the first puppy very hard. To nitpick, would prefer a more refined head. Lovely angulation, good bone, and well let down hock. Firm topline that she carries well on the move. Another to watch grow on to future success. RESERVE WINNER’S BITCH
3. BRANZUSI SANDYSHIRE TEAL (Ch. Belroyd Seabird x Blaizewood Royal Favourite). Breeder: Jill Watson-Ellis. Owner: Patricia L. Sandy Smith & Mindy Holmes. Red and white. Well laid back shoulder, but low, wide withers ruins outline. Riding up slightly over the loin. Hope she’s done growing.
4. WINDSHYR BLACK ICE (Windshyr Artistry On Ice x Windshyr A-Million to One). Breeder/Owner: Sharon Grous. Black headed tri. Lovely short hock and dense bone. Well laid back shoulder, but would prefer more “stretch” throughout. Quite a show girl.
PUPPY 9-12 MONTHS, BITCHES (15 entries)
(Sorry! Guess I didn’t push the right button as I have nothing on my tape recorder for this class— Terry Hansen)
1. CULDI’S PENNIES FROM HEAVEN
2. FOXWAY LEGACY MEMORIES

4. ARIEL ZIESSI DARLING
12-18 MONTHS, BITCHES (9 entries)
1. SPOCK TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL (Ch. Lamin Rumor Has It x Spock Pink Shadow). Breeder/Owner: Murielle Cote Guerin & Denis Guerin. Dark red and white. Would prefer a more refined head piece. Lovely layback of shoulder, firm level topline, short hocks.
2. TALLYRAND SONRISE SERENADE (Ch. Salvenik Sweet Thoughts x Ch. Tallyrand Amazing Love). Breeder: Joseph & Lois Zelenski. Owner: Rebecca B. Herlihy. This bitch won her placing on her lovely side movement. Good well developed sternum, firm topline and well placed tight shoulder assembly.
3. PUTNAM’S LITTLE PRINCESS IVY (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Cierra’s Fireweed). Breeder: Jane P. McCormick. Owner: Andria Filipponi Maloney. Rolls up over the loin and common head piece.
4. LLANDIANS SWEET ROSIE (Ch. Salvenik Sweet Thoughts x Ch. Llandian touch of Elegance). Breeder: Dianne Connelly. Owner: Elizabeth Mercer. Red headed tri. Would prefer more angulation front and rear.
Bred-By Bitches (7 entries)
1. JUST ENUFF SO NEAR SO FAR (Ch. Tams Jazzman of Larchmont x Ch. Just Enuff Curtain Calls CD). Breeder-/Owner: Patricia Bittles & Susan Klar. Red headed tri. Very balanced and a quite honest bitch. Good head piece, well laid back shoulder, and lovely side gait. Very clean coming and going and dead-level topline. Quite the show girl.
2. MYSTICAL JUST CHARMED ENUFF (Ch. Pot O’Golds’ Break A Leg x Ch. Mystical Just Wooly Enuff HT CD). Breeder/Owner: Deborah L. Beal & Susan L. Klar. Red and white. Absolutely in her “bikini.” Lovely length of body with deep ribbing well into the loin. Nice well arched neck into good shoulder assembly.
3. MAPLELEAF DUCHESS OF PEMWYCK (Ch. Sandyshire’s Prophesea x Mapleleaf’s Miss Daisey). Breeder: Chari & Richard Magnan. Owner: Chari Magnan & L’Nore Latimer. Light red with sable. Thought she would initially win the class, but just refuses to make any effort to be a show dog. Well balanced with clean movement. Should possibly make a few less trips to the kitchen.
4. FOXTALE REACHING FOR A STAR (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Ch. Champagne N Caviar). Breeder/Owner: Virginia C. Fitzgerald. Red and white. Very feminine. Nice length of ribbing, but riding up over the loin and a little straight in the stifle.
AMERICAN BRED Bitches (3 entries)
1. OTREKS SIRRAH DREAM CATCHER (Ch. Rivona Top Notch x Ch. Otreks Pale Draft of Redbud). Breeder: Karen Skaggs. Owner: Mildred E. & C. Donald Harris. Red and white. Clean coming and going. Would like more stretch overall. Nice short hocks.
2. SMH KYNA’S GRAND FINALE (Honeyfox Dublin Crunch x SMH Macduff’s Kid Kyna). Breeder/Owner: Sharon M. Horn DVM. Red headed tri. Low stationed with a very tight, single coat.
3. FOXWAY GLENSUCOR LOUISIANA CDX (Glensucor Foxways Dakota x Foxway Special Angel). Breeder: Sandra Mottes & Sue McKune. Owner: Carol Kasabian. Not a bad moving bitch when she decides to move, but too many trips to the kitchen has made anything more than a walk, just too much effort.
OPEN BITCHES (16 entries)
1. POT O’GOLD ROUGHHOUSE SUPERSTAR (Ch. Tams Jazzman of Larchmont x Ch. Roughouse Watch Closely Now). Breeder: Patricia Bittles & Mrs. Maitlan Ijams. Owner: Gayle K. Garvin. Red and white. Nice bitch who got better and better as the class wore on. Understand this was her first show. She should have a quite promising future with a little more ring experience. Nice length of body, good bone and substance in a feminine package. Short, well let down hock, nicely angulated shoulder assembly.
2. BLAIZEWOOD ROYAL FAVOURITE (Woodhenge Star Emperor x Patchesfarm Phoebe of Blaizewood). Breeder: Joan A. Logsdon. Owner: Jill Watson Ellis. Red and white. Good angulation front and rear, but a flat wither ruins her outline. A little common in the head.
3. WOODCLYF STORYTELLER (Ch. Belroyd Bronze Eagle x Ch. Woodclyf Rising Star). Breeder/Owner: Judy Beltz & Sharon Irving. Not quite the length or angles of those above, but an honest bitch with a good topline.
4. FOXTALE’S GLAD TIDINGS (Ch. Foxtale’s Jazz Dancer x Ch. Honeyfox Front Page Story). Breeder: Virginia C. Fitzgerald. Owner: Michaele & James Gilpatrick. Nice length, but unfortunately out of coat today. Good clean neck into a nice shoulder assembly. Nice flat croup and short hocks.
VETERAN DOGS (2 entries)
I believe these veterans have earned their place in the ring over the years and should just be appreciated at this stage of their lives and not critiqued. — Terry Hansen

BEST OF BREED (15 entries)
BOB: CH. SUA MAH SADDLE LANE FAUX DIVA (Ch. Pinemeade Paper Dragon x Ch. Sua Mah Magic Storm). Breeder: Judy & Tony Hart. Owner: Andrew Carter. Red and white bitch who consistently did everything right. A substantial, but feminine bitch with lovely length of body into a strong, short loin. Dead-level topline that never bobbled. Very clean coming and going and sidegait was faultless; truly exemplifies the term “reach and drive.” In impeccable coat and hard condition; very hard to not like this girl and she never quit asking for the Best of Breed ribbon.
BOS: CH. DWYNELLA LOOK ME OVER (Owlsridge Charlston of Kilvewood x Cinonnie Bambi). Breeder: D. Dickinson. Owner: Thomas Mathiesen. Pale red and white dog who very strongly expresses good Corgi type. Sound coming and going with a lovely headpiece.

jack girton (stonebridge)
I would very much like to thank the Specialty Committee and members for asking me to judge your First Independent Specialty Sweeps. It was an honor
and a thrill. I was beginning to think that the Corgi people had forgotten that I was still around. Also, a big thank you to Cindy Savioli for her great job of ring stewarding–she certainly made my job a lot easier. In addition, my gratitude to Lynne and Harold Small for their hospitality and for chauffeuring me on Friday and Saturday.
— Jack Girton (Stonebridge)
6-9 MONTH DOGS (6 exhibited)
1. BRANSUZI THUNDERBIRD (Ch. Belroyd Seabird x Blaizewood Royal Favourite). Breeder/Owner: Jill Watson Ellis. A light red and white boy with exactly what I was looking for in a very young male. Even though he wasn’t showing to his best advantage, I could not miss his lovely type and what I consider perfect size for a 6-9 month dog puppy. To ringside he may have appeared high in the rear, however upon examination this proved not to be the case. He just has an abundance of puppy coat over his haunches. Nice movement coming and going, he won this class on type, bone, and correct size.
2. SUNLINE COCH-Y-BONDDU (Sunline Durham Ranger x Sunline Bonny Red Hackle). Breeders/Owners: Ann and Warren Phillips. A nice red and white male with a lovely outline and attractive head though I would prefer a slightly larger ear. This puppy has all the essentials though I wish he were not quite so large for his age. His movement was difficult to assess; he was giving his owner quite a bit of trouble on the move.
3. WOODCLYF MUSIC MAN (Ch. Belroyd Seabird x Woodclyf Critic’s Choice). Breeders/Owners: Judy Beltz and Sharon Irving. Another red and white youngster that I feel has some real potential to make up into a lovely dog. He has a lovely head, beautiful bone, and particularly nice feet. Right now he needs his front half to grow up to match his rear half. This puppy appears a trifle immature right now and there’s nothing wrong with that for a 6-9 puppy.
4. WINDSHYR TRIBUTE ON ICE (Windshyr Artistry on Ice x Windshyr A-Million To One). Breeder: Sharon Grous. Owners: Sharon Grous, and Richard and Brenda Walsh. This puppy has lovely length with a nice head and a very proper coat texture. I wish he were not so large and had better angles both front and rear. But still a quality youngster.
9-12 MONTH DOGS (9 exhibited)
1. TRESAITH’S THE BRYSE IS RIGHT (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Ch. Lamin Impulsive O’Tresaith). Breeders/Owners: Janet & Bill Richardson. I loved this sable boy the minute he entered the ring. He is very close to my ideal for a young male corgi. A lovely head and expression, beautiful ear set, and properly sized and placed eyes. Add to this a beautiful topline with movement from all angles, and you have winner. The only place I would fault him is I wish he were just a trifle longer, though he is certainly not short. I was pleased to give him BEST OPPOSITE IN SWEEPS and would have taken him home given half a chance.
2. FOXWAY LEGACY TRAVELER (Ch. Foxway Corg’rd Crystal Legacy x Ch. Foxway A Rumor of Grace). Breeders: S. Mottes & M. Pohl & E. Schusterson. Owners: Michele Pohl & Sandra Mottes. Again a lovely young man just slightly larger than number 1. This puppy has very impressive side movement and outline with lovely pigment and nice dark eye. I would prefer just a slightly shorter muzzle and not quite the expression of the dog above him.
3. ARIEL’S ZACHARY DARLING (Ch. Lorjen and Malvern Fancy That x Ch. Ariel’s Wendy Darling). Breeders/Owners: Lynne and Harold Small. This puppy personified the Breed Type in my opinion. A pale shaded red and white with a beautiful head and expression. Lovely pigment and proper outline. Has a better topline on the table than he holds on the move which is why he lost out to the two above him.
4. FOXWAY LEGACY KEEPER (Ch. Foxway Corg’rd Crystal Legacy x Ch. Foxway A Rumor of Grace). Breeders: S. Mottes & M. Pohl & E. Schusterson. Owner: Sandra Mottes. A lighter red and white boy with everything he needs to state quality. He lost to those above on topline on the move as he has a tendency to roach a bit and his extra length of hock means he lacks a little drive behind.
12-18 MONTH DOGS (11 exhibited)
1. COLBURN HEAVEN HELP US (Ch. Jade Tree Penway Up Country x Ch. Wee Folks Tudor Tapestry) Breeder: Teresa A. Blackstad. Owners: Susan Ellis and Teresa A. Blackstad. A light red and white dog of very nice moderate size with very impressive side movement and an absolutely level topline both moving and standing. A little more length of coat would finish off his outline better and frame his head. He is just slightly too heavy in head for my taste but still a nice quality dog.
2. ARBOR FESTINIOG SEA EPIC (Ch. Belroyd Seabird x Ch. Arbor Festiniog Idle Gossip) Breeder: Kathleen A. Broska. Owners: Kathleen A. Broska and Margaret A. Thomas. This dog has side movement to rival the dog above him with lovely length of body and neck. He however has the opposite coat problem of the 1st place dog. This one is a little long to be serviceable in the field. Not as nice in head proportions as the dog above.
3. APPLEBO’S ROCK ON ROCKALL (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Foxtale’s Glad Tidings). Breeder: Michaele & Jim Gilpatrick. Owners: Ralph Adams and Michaele Gilpatrick. A beautifully colored sable dog with a head and expression to die for. Just wish he was a trifle longer and he didn’t have the movement of those above him. His croup falls off just a little and thus he lacks a little drive in the rear–however, the stack of this dog is quite lovely.
4. FOXTALE STARBOUND (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Ch. Champagne N Caviar). Breeder/Owner: Virginia C. Fitzgerald. This young man just needs a few months to catch up with the guys above him in maturity. He was a trifle out of coat also, which didn’t help. His head and outline were attractive and movement very balanced. Wish his eye were a shade darker.
6-9 MONTH BITCHES (16 exhibited)
Right here I feel I need to say that this large quality-packed 6-9 class had some puppies that will surely finish easily that didn’t even get a ribbon today.
1. WINDSHYR NUTCRACKER ON ICE (Windshyr Artistry on Ice x Windshyr A-Million To One). Breeder: Sharon Grous. Owners: Sharon Grous & Ann Sullivan & Elizabeth Sulivan. This dark red and white young lady has everything. Proper size, exquisite head and expression with a nice dark eye that gives a very lovely expression. Add to this lovely bone, nice neck, and topline with very balanced movement and she will surely go far. Another one I would love to own.
2. FOXWAY LEGACY SPRING MELODY (Ch. Foxway Corg’rd Crystal Legacy x Saddle Lanes Spring Fever) Breeders: Sandra Mottes and David Guempel and Larry Adams. Owner: Sandra Mottes. This puppy is also very lovely. A little more finished coat than number 1. Lovely length of body and dead level topline, however, her extremely short legs worry me a little at her age.
3. WINDSHYR BLACK ICE (Windshyr Artistry On Ice x Windshyr A-Million To One). Breeder/Owner: Sharon Grous. A very typey black headed tri bitch with an outline very much like the second place bitch but not quite the side movement. I wish her eye were a shade darker for her color and her feet are a little too round. However, she really commands attention for her overall type and quality.
4. PEMINTENN’S KISS ‘N TELL (Ch. Pinemeade War Party x Saddle Lane Glamour O’Pemnten) Breeder/Owner: Nancy Schaefer. I really liked this bitch on the table. She has a lovely head, beautiful pigment and a superb outline. However, on the ground she did nothing for herself and she did not get better as time progressed. She really needs to be convinced that dog shows are fun.
9-12 MONTH BITCHES (9 exhibited)
This 9-12 class was overall the best in terms of depth of quality in the entire entry. There were bitches here that I couldn’t even place that I would dearly love to take home.
1. FOXWAY LEGACY MEMORIES (Ch. Foxway Corg’rd Crystal Legacy x Ch. Foxway A Rumour of Grace). Breeders: S. Mottes & Michelle Pohl & E. Schusterson. Owner: Sandra Mottes. This girl came into the ring saying “Here I am and you will not ignore me”. She has it all and she knows it. Exquisite type and outline coupled with the side movement that could really do a day’s work. Her topline is dead-level standing and moving, her head and expression are melting. Add to this her “Hey look at me” attitude and it was easy to award her BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES.
2. HERONSWAY VELVET MOON (Ch. Nebriowa Jovan x Heronsway Skyview Moonglow). Breeders: Karen Butterworth and Anne Bowes. Owner: Donna M. Gilbert. Another one I really loved. A red-headed tri version of the first place bitch even down to the attitude. Just lost out on front construction to the one above.
3. FOXWAY LEGACY REMEMBERED (Ch. Foxway Corg’rd Crystal Legacy x Ch. Foxway A Rumour of Grace). Breeders: S. Mottes & Michelle Pohl & E. Schusterson. Owner: Sandra Mottes. Another lovely bitch which I later found out was a littermate to the first place bitch. I could sure see it as they are almost peas in a pod so to speak. I just wish there were a little more of this bitch and hope her extremely heavy puppy coat changes as she matures. However, I still loved her.
4. CULDI’S PENNIES FROM HEAVEN (Ch. Pettiwood’s Penny Ante x Ch. Hungry Heart O’Culdi) Breeder/Owner: Stephanie Snide. Yet another gorgeous puppy. beautiful type, very nice moving and an outline right from the standard. Wish her pigment and eye color were a trifle darker.
12-18 MONTH BITCHES (7 exhibited)
1. SPOCK TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL (Ch. Lamin Rumour Has It x Spock Pink Shadow) Breeders/Owners: Murielle Cote Guerin & Denis Guerin. This beautifully colored red and white girl has a real look of quality about her. She has a very attractive head, nice neck and topline, and really has it together in the showmanship department. I wish she were a little longer and her pigment bothers me a little. However, I have found this often in corgis that are this lovely deep red-orange color.
2. FOXTALE REACHING FOR A STAR (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Ch. Champagne N Caviar). Breeder/Owner: Virginia C. Fitzgerald. Another quality bitch that lost out on front movement and bend of stifle to the one above. However, I do prefer this one’s length.
3. FOXTALE’S TANQUERAY (Foxtale’s Jameson At Applebo x Foxtale’s A Star is Born). Breeder/Owner: Virginia C. Fitzgerald. This bitch has some qualities that everyone should admire. Her type and outline standing are lovely. Her head is very attractive. She has absolutely the maximum amount of white by the standard and her soft back moving kept her from placing higher in the class. A very high-quality bitch, however.
4. PUTNAM’S LITTLE PRINCESS IVY (Ch. Honeyfox Starstruck x Cierra’s Fireweed). Breeder: Jane P. McCormick. Owner: Andria Filipponi Maloney. Another lovely bitch with a very attractive head and expression and balanced outline. Lost out on movement to the three above her.
VETERANS SWEEPSTAKES
I do not feel it fair to critique the Veterans as they all deserve the recognition they get and have had plenty of critiques in their youth. However, I will say that I hope that all the youngsters I saw hold up as well as the Veterans. Their owners should be applauded for the incredible condition they have kept these dogs in.
