Before you purchase a corgi puppy, there are several things you need to know. Understand you will be making a commitment for the life of this pup who ultimately will become a member of your family. Please take advantage of the sources listed below to carefully consider this important decision. If you then decide on a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, contact one of member-breeders below, or our puppy referral chairperson.
Many Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies end up coming into a rescue program because they were an impulse purchase from a pet shop. Often people fall for the cute puppy in the store without giving consideration to what the dog will be like when it is an adult. Corgis were originally bred to move 1000 pound cattle and move large herds of sheep. Because of this, they are a head strong little dog that can be stubborn and think independently. They require consistent, firm training. They can be a loud, energetic dog and they require a lot of exercise. They shed. They can shed a lot.
If a breeder places you on their waiting list, please be patient.
Through this service, we put prospective homes for corgi puppies in touch with PWCCGS member-breeders who have puppies available.
Please know that we often do not have referrals, but will provide you with guidance on finding a puppy elsewhere.
Note: The PWCCGS does not guarantee or endorse the services or the quality or health of the dogs which may be purchased from breeders who are members of our club.
